日本物理学会若手奨励賞領域１１内規（English version is below.）

（１）対象： 原則として領域11に関連する研究について，論文で公表された研究業績を対象にする。論文は申請者の関わった一連の研究に関するものであり、複数論文でもよい。雑誌の種類、言語は問わないが、 国際的に定評のある雑誌に主著者（第一著者、責任著者など論文で主たる貢献をした著者のこと）の論文が少なくとも１編あり、そのうち１編に該当する研究内容を日本物理学会の領域11で登壇者として発表していることが条件である。
（２）資格：日本物理学会会員であり、原則として受賞年度の４月１日現在において３７歳以下であること。なお、出産、育児休暇により研究を中断したなどの事情がある場合は、年齢制限を「３９歳以下」まで緩和することができる。また同一人による若手奨励賞の受賞は１回限りである。
（３）応募方法：自薦または他薦とする。自薦を推奨する。必要書類は、 (a) 研究業績のタイトル、応募者（または被推薦者）の研究のアピールとその研究内容についての問い合わせのできる方2-3名と連絡先を明記した自己推薦書（または推薦書）、 (b)履歴書（物理学会会員番号および生年月日を記載すること、また、出産・育児休暇などがある場合は事情を記載すること）、 (c)３編以内の論文のリスト（応募者または被推薦者が主著者でない場合は主著者の承諾書を添付）と該当論文のコピー、および領域11における学会発表のリストと該当概要のコピーを、 物理学会誌の募集要綱に記載された提出期限までに、 領域１１代表と副代表あてに電子メールにPDFファイルを添付する形式にて送付すること。 受取確認メールの送付をもって申請を受理したものとする。 受取メールを受信しなかった場合には、必ず領域代表に確認すること。
（４）選考方法：選考は物理学会の承認を得て設置される審査委員会が行う。審査委員会は、代表、副代表が推薦した方の中から、分野、研究機関、地域が偏らないように選ばれた９名程度の委員で構成する。委員の任期は３年とする。同時に委員長も選任する。審査委員は若手奨励賞の資格がない人でなければならない。審査委員の名前は公表しない。委員が副代表となることは妨げない。その場合、当該委員は委員を辞退し、代わりに、残任期間を担当する委員を加える。
（５）審査結果の報告：審査委員長は審査結果と簡単な審査経過の報告を領域１１のWEB上に掲載する。
（６）義務：若手奨励賞を受けた人は受賞講演を行う。
（７）規則の改訂：代表、副代表、領域運営委員の発議により、いつでも規定の改訂を始めることが出来る。なお改訂内容は代表、副代表、領域運営委員の過半数の賛成で成立する。
補足説明- 貢献度（アイデア、実行、考察、論文作成などに対する本人の役割・貢献度）について、各々の論文について自己の貢献部分を論文リスト中に記載すること。
- 自薦において、本領域を含む複数の領域に申請することはできない。
- 他薦において、同一の候補者を、本領域を含む複数の領域に推薦することはできない。
- 他薦において、複数の候補者を本領域に推薦することはできない。
- 領域11の代表、副代表は、本領域に候補者を推薦することはできない（副代表以外の審査委員が推薦することは妨げない）。
Internal Regulations for the Young Scientist Award of the Physical Society of Japan (Division 11)

(1) Scope
In principle, the award targets research achievements related to Division 11 that have been published in academic papers. The papers should relate to a series of research studies in which the applicant has been involved, and multiple papers may be submitted. There are no restrictions on the type of journal or language; however, at least one paper must be published in an internationally recognized journal with the applicant as the primary author (i.e., the author who made the principal contribution to the paper, such as the first author or corresponding author). In addition, the applicant must have presented the research corresponding to at least one of these primary author papers as a speaker in Division 11 of the Physical Society of Japan.
(2) Eligibility
Applicants must be members of the Physical Society of Japan and, in principle, must be 37 years old or younger as of April 1 of the award year. However, this age limit may be extended to 39 years old for those who have experienced interruptions in their research due to childbirth, childcare leave, or similar circumstances. The Young Scientist Award may be received only once by any individual.
(3) Application Procedure
Applications may be submitted either by self-nomination or by nomination from others, with self-nomination encouraged. The required documents are as follows:
- (a) A statement of application (or nomination letter) including the title of the research achievements, an overview highlighting the applicant’s research, and the names and contact information of two to three individuals who can be contacted regarding the research content.
- (b) A curriculum vitae, including the applicant’s membership number in the Physical Society of Japan and date of birth. If applicable, include details of any interruptions such as childbirth or childcare leave.
- (c) A list of up to three papers (if the applicant is not the primary author, a letter of consent from the primary author must be attached), copies of the relevant papers, a list of presentations given in Division 11, and copies of the corresponding abstracts.
All documents must be submitted as PDF attachments via email to both the Division 11 Representative and Deputy Representative by the deadline specified in the call for applications in the Journal of the Physical Society of Japan. An application is considered accepted upon receipt of a confirmation email. If no confirmation email is received, the applicant must contact the Division Representative to verify receipt.
(4) Selection Process
Selection will be conducted by a review committee established with the approval of the Physical Society of Japan. The committee consists of approximately nine members selected from candidates recommended by the Representative and Deputy Representative, ensuring balance across research fields, institutions, and regions. Members serve a three-year term, and a chairperson is appointed. Committee members must not be eligible for the Young Scientist Award. The names of the committee members are not disclosed.
A committee member may also serve as Deputy Representative; however, in such cases, the individual must resign from the committee and be replaced by another member serving the remainder of the term.
(5) Reporting of Results
The chair of the review committee will publish the selection results and a brief summary of the review process on the Division 11 website.
(6) Obligation
Award recipients are required to deliver an award lecture.
(7) Revision of Regulations
Revisions to these regulations may be initiated at any time upon proposal by the Representative, Deputy Representative, or members of the Division Steering Committee. Revisions are approved by a majority vote of these members.
- For each paper, applicants must clearly indicate their individual contributions (e.g., ideas, execution, analysis, manuscript preparation) within the publication list.
- In the case of self-nomination, applicants may not apply to multiple divisions, including Division 11.
- In the case of nomination by others, the same candidate may not be nominated to multiple divisions, including Division 11.
- A nominator may not recommend multiple candidates to Division 11.
- The Division 11 Representative and Deputy Representative may not nominate candidates for this division (however, other review committee members, excluding the Deputy Representative, may do so).
